Are TED Lights outdoor lanterns weatherproof?
Yes — the outdoor lanterns in our range are specifically designed for outdoor use, all year round.
Materials:
- Solar lanterns: weather-resistant polyester, UV-resistant, resistant to rain and wind
- Standing outdoor lanterns for LED candles: weather-resistant metal or plastic, rain-resistant
Can they be left out in the rain? Yes. The lanterns themselves are weather-resistant. The LED candle inside does not need to be — make sure you use an outdoor LED candle (IP44 or higher), then you can leave the combination outside even in the rain.
Winter: In principle, the lanterns can also stay outside in winter. In case of extreme frost (below -15°C), we recommend bringing them indoors. In Dutch winters (average -5°C to +5°C), this is not a problem.
Maintenance:
- Wipe the lantern occasionally with a damp cloth
- Check that no water is stagnating at the bottom
