Yes — but always check if the string lights are specifically intended for outdoor use. Not all string lights are waterproof.
How do you recognize outdoor string lights?

- IP44 or higher
- Weather-resistant cord and sealed lamp holders

Mounting outdoors: Hang the string lights on hooks in the wall, on a pergola, along a balustrade, or through a hedge. Use outdoor-suitable mounting clips — these will not damage the cord.
In the rain: An IP44 string light can hang in the rain, but ensure that the battery holder or power outlet stays dry. These are often less waterproof than the cord itself.
