Do LED candles get hot?
Hardly any. This is one of the biggest advantages of LED candles compared to real candles.
How much heat does an LED candle emit? The LED light itself gets slightly warm—similar to a smartphone you are using. The candle itself (the wax body) remains cool to the touch. There is no risk of burns upon contact.
Comparison with real candles: A real candle burns at approximately 1400°C at the flame and emits significant heat into its surroundings. An LED candle emits practically no heat—you can touch it while it is "burning."
Consequences for use:
- No fire hazard for curtains, tablecloths, or decorations
- Safe near children and pets
- No melted wax on furniture or candle holders
- Safe to leave unattended
Note for outdoor use: At high outdoor temperatures (>35°C) in direct sunlight, ordinary wax LED candles can soften slightly. Our outdoor LED candles are made of heat-resistant material and are specifically suitable for this.
